Dementia

The Big Blue Café run by Court House Catering have become a Dementia Friendly Café.  Inspired by the Hythe Huddle (a local group run to help support those living with dementia) and the ‘Totton Together’ project being run by AFC Totton, the staff at the Big Blue Café have now benefitted from an awareness session run by Jane Ward who is a lead for Dementia Friendly Hampshire.

Emma from the Big Blue Café says “we are simply looking to ensure that we are a place that anyone affected by dementia can come and feel comfortable . As our staff have had the training to begin to understand some of the issues and concerns surrounding dementia they are well placed to be understanding and help in practical ways during peoples visit to the Big Blue Café @ Court House Catering. This will be ongoing – everyday.”
