The Eling Experience is a visitor attraction featuring the unique and historic Eling Tide Mill.
We currently have a rare opportunity for the post of
MILLER
Wednesday – Sunday
(plus some Mondays, Tuesdays, Bank Holidays and evenings)
Salary – scp – 18-21, Band 3 – £20,092 – £21,748 (Pro-rata)
An extremely flexible approach is needed as milling is tidal dependent.
The ideal candidate will have a mechanical/engineering background and have been involved in operating and maintenance of machinery in a previous post. Full training will be given and you would be required to regularly lift a weight of 24kg as part of this role.
You will also need good communication, IT and customer service skills as you will be engaging with the general public on a day-to-day basis. In addition, the possession of a full driving licence and local residency would be beneficial.
Hours are variable, March to September are 24 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday. October to February 12-20 hours per week, with a six week complete closure of the facility around the Christmas period. All hours are tide dependent so flexibility is a requirement.
