On Saturday, 28th October, we are arranging a Walking Picnics special event, called “Food in the Wood” as part of the New Forest Walking Festival, 2017. It is the third year we have been part of the New Forest Walking Festival, and this year, we have decided to go for the big one – a day walk of around 10 miles, complete with a full picnic lunch. Here’s how the day will work:
10am Meet at Bolderwood car park, for hot drinks and pastries
10:30am Leave for the outward walk of around 6 miles through the woods at the heart of the New Forest
1pm Arrive at Anderwood (toilets available) for a home-made picnic lunch
2pm Leave for the return walk of around 4 miles, a completely different route, with more heathland
3:30pm Arrive back at Bolderwood, for more hot drinks and cakes!
As usual, Nigel will be leading the guided walk, looking out for wildlife along the route, and Christine will be preparing jacket potatoes, and hot soup, cakes, and lots of other picnic goodies.
The whole event will be limited to 12 places, at a cost of £25 per person. Places are already being reserved, so please hurry if you want to join us for this special day. Click here to book.
