Introducing the Great New Forest Marque Breakfast: 18 – 30 April

We are inviting you to enjoy a delicious locally sourced breakfast!

This April the New Forest Marque is joining forces with the New Forest Trust and a host of local businesses to celebrate the finest New Forest produce through ‘Great New Forest Marque’ branded breakfasts taking place across the area.

Over a two week period (18-30 April) members of the public are invited to attend a special breakfast at a participating host venue, or even host their own at home for friends and family. The aim is simple: to bring people together across the Forest and raise awareness of the quality produce we have right on our doorstep.

The New Forest is home to some fantastic producers who are intrinsically linked to the landscape including Commoners, beekeepers , fruit and vegetable growers, fishmongers, free-range egg producers, and jam makers. Breakfast is the perfect meal to showcase these ingredients on one plate, giving everyone the opportunity to experience how easy, accessible and delicious it can be to support local.

Local producers face the pricing and convenience pressures of large supermarkets, but choosing local can be a better option all round. Food travels fewer miles, reducing carbon impact and helping retain freshness. Ingredients are traceable, production is on a smaller scale, and spending locally supports the area’s rural economy.

We anticipate many Great New Forest Marque Breakfasts taking place across the Forest throughout the fortnight. Raising the profile of the Marque and local producers and celebrating the Forest’s independent businesses. Voluntary donations will also be encouraged to support the New Forest Trust — think ‘Macmillan Coffee Morning’, but with a New Forest twist.
