I am a local textile artist, designing and creating functionable gifts and wearable art that is inspired by The New Forest. Inspiration from the forest’s rich history, culture and traditions that date to William the Conqueror. I draw on the local folklore, cultural heritage, myths, symbolism, flora and fauna that are unique to the area. Like the traditional alchemist who took their raw materials to make gold. I take my raw materials, that of fabrics, threads, fibres and haberdashery to make my gold. By mixing these physical materials along with the history (both written and those that go beyond ordinary consciousness), my gifts are created. They become snapshots of the New Forest.
