New Forest Brilliance in Business Awards 2019 – Open for Voting!

The Brilliance in Business Awards celebrate the achievements of businesses in the New Forest and highlight best practice.
The New Forest Business of the Year will be selected from the winners of ten individual categories. These will include companies which show high levels of achievement within their core business and in a number of specialist areas including investment in the workforce, enterprise and innovation, entrepreneurship, development of technologies and environmental policies as well as the New Forest’s key visitor economy and food and drink sectors.
Individuals can either enter their business or nominate a company in any of the categories listed below.
Entry is open to businesses with operational premises in the administrative area of New Forest District Council.
All entries should be made by 12 noon on 1 October 2019.
Short-listed businesses will be selected in each of the award categories; those selected will be invited to discuss their application in further detail with the judging panel. Judging dates for individual categories are detailed on each page. Please ensure your availability before submitting an application in the event that your business is short-listed.
Short-listed candidates will receive two complimentary tickets to the Awards evening.
The panel of judges, chosen for their experience and expertise, will assess all entries. Judges will be drawn from the Board Members of the New Forest Business Partnership and category sponsors.

The New Forest District Council Award for Outstanding Customer Care:
For businesses who recognise the importance of the customer in growing their business. Successful entrants will demonstrate how analysis and response to ‘customer needs’ have assisted in developing a growing business.

The ExxonMobil Award for Innovation:
This award will recognise the company that successfully applies any form of innovation, celebrating the ideas that have had the greatest impact on an organisation, company or industry.

The 49 Award for Entrepreneurship:
New award for 2019
Focusing on the contribution of a dynamic, creative and visionary leader, this award will recognise an enterprising individual who has achieved sustained levels of growth and strong financial performance through a culture of innovation, resilience and an ethos of inspiring others through their leadership style.

The New Forest Enterprise Centre Award for the Best New Business:
This award recognises companies started within the previous two years that have exceeded their initial targets for growth and already show significant product/service development and leadership within their sector or industry.

The Hampshire County Council Award for Contribution to the New Forest Community:
To be awarded to a business which recognises the importance of a real commitment to the local New Forest community and can demonstrate tangible impact and clear results in Corporate Social Responsibility and/or community impact.

The New Forest National Park Authority Award for Contribution to the National Park:
This award recognises businesses that, through their actions and activities, support the special qualities of the National Park and contribute to the development of a diverse and sustainable local economy.

The Totton College Award for Training and Development:
For businesses offering outstanding career opportunities to their employees including training, career development and mentoring within the existing workforce. The winner will show how this investment has allowed the company to enhance their performance.

The Eric Robinson Award for Young Person in Business:
For an individual aged under 30 years who has made a significant contribution to business in the position of owner, employee or trainee/apprentice. The winner will demonstrate how they have brought creative ideas and progress to the business through their continued learning and development within the role.

New award for 2019
Recognising the growing importance of the local food and drink sector, this award celebrates the very best in food and drink production in the New Forest.
