Fiona McKinnon Inspired artist

We’re delighted to welcome local artist Fiona McKinnon, to the New Forest Marque Inspired community.

Fiona has been a resident of the New Forest for over 40 years and has a deep love and connection with both the Forest and the sea. After retiring from a career as a social worker and social work educator, she returned to painting, reconnecting with her lifelong enjoyment of drawing and colour.

Inspired by the landscapes and flora of the New Forest, the Solent and Christchurch Bay, as well as places she has visited across the UK and overseas, Fiona uses acrylics and mixed media to explore the beauty, atmosphere and emotional character of the natural world.

Many of her paintings begin with photographs taken during her travels, which she then develops through her own creative response to the places that inspire her. Fiona also writes poetry!

Fiona will be holding an exhibition of her work called The Journey So Far on Sunday 18th October 2026 at Hordle Community Centre, Vaggs Lane, Hordle, SO41 0FP. 10am – 4.30pm.

Welcome to the New Forest Marque Fiona – we are excited to have you!
