New Forest Marque members shine at the New Forest Awards 2025

Huge congratulations to the winners of the New Forest Awards 2025!

The New Forest National Park Authority run these every year in partnership with the Country Land and Business Association (CLA). Now in their 12th year, the awards celebrate the wonderful people who work year-round to support the New Forest’s environment and rural economy.

This year the winner of Best Supporter of Local Produce was awarded to long-standing Marque member Sway Butchers (above). Owners David and Nicola West are absolutely delighted to have won the award, they said:

‘We are passionate about maintaining & growing our local supply chain here in the New Forest. We support many small non-intensive farms, that specialise in grass-fed native breeds, and are run by families that care about animal welfare and the environment. We believe it is very important that these small scale farms survive in the New Forest, as they have done for centuries, to maintain the diversity of the local economy, and of course, most importantly, cut down food miles.’

To mark the New Forest National Park’s 20th anniversary, a new award – Commoning Champion – was introduced this year to recognise individuals who play a crucial role in preserving this traditional practice which is key to maintaining the Forest’s landscape and biodiversity. This was awarded to commoner Andrew Parry-Norton who is also on the New Forest Marque Board, and runs The Commoners Larder with his wife Sarah. Well done!

Special mention also goes to Lucy Bramley who received a Highly Commended for Sustainability Champion. Lucy is a local artist who recently joined the Marque team as New Forest Marque Inspired Membership and Events Coordinator.

The winners were recognised at a special ceremony at the New Forest and Hampshire County Show last week where they picked up their awards. Congratulations everyone! You can read more about all the winners on the New Forest National Park Authority website here.
