We are so excited to be featured in a special New Forest edition of Monopoly!

Launched this week, the game features historical sites, iconic sights and well-known brands from across the Forest.

A pony and pig are among the six custom tokens players will use to move around more than 30 locations such as Furzey Gardens, Hurst Castle and Beaulieu Motor Museum.

Players can pick up chance and community chest cards for unexpected prizes and penalties: will you get elected as a verderer of the New Forest, or will you end up in jail for littering?

The New Forest Marque features on a chance card that gives players $50 to spend on New Forest food and drink. The card reads: ‘You discover the New Forest Marque, the sign of true local produce. Collect $50 to spend on delicious New Forest food and drink’.

The New Forest National Park appears in the top spot (replacing Mayfair) and Marque member Burley Manor is showcased in the centre of the board.

Mr Monopoly visited various locations across the Forest on Tuesday to launch the game, stopping at Burley Manor for tea and cakes!

Games company Winning Moves created the special edition on licence from Hasbro.

Ella Gibbs, Customs Games Executive at Winning Moves UK, said: ‘It’s a board game for the ages – the past and the present – and features the great and the good of the New Forest.’

It was announced last year that the New Forest was getting its very own official version of Monopoly and the public was invited to send in suggestions.

Ella said: ‘We have been wonderfully spoiled for choice putting together this edition. Thank you to everyone who contributed during the public consultation process.’

The game is available now at retailers including WHSmith, Waterstones and Amazon.
