We started trading in September 2014. As a new business with no customers or trade accounts in the area, we made contact with the New Forest Marque to see if we would qualify as a New Forest Producer.

Having achieved that, “The Marque” swung into action. Before we knew it we had our products into a couple of farm shops and were sole suppliers to a new cafe. The next thing we knew we were at a tasting session for one of the top garden centres in the forest (and still supply them to this day). As time went on more and more contacts were being passed to us. Within 12 months we were working flat out on a thriving business and having to draft family in to help us.

All this goes to prove that The New Forest Marque puts you in contact with the people you need to speak to. Of all the money we spent setting up our business, the membership fee was by far the best investment we have ever made

Since joining the New Forest Marque earlier this year, we have had a whole new network of local suppliers and contacts opened up to us.

Not only is it a privilege to be a member of such a forward-thinking group, but the support and friendliness of fellow members has been superb and made such a difference to us in terms of operationally running our business as well as growing our business with new clients.

The variety, range and quality of producers that the Marque supports has been eye-opening and we take great pleasure in promoting the Marque through all our communications to clients and prospective clients.

Although I am a very small producer I am very committed to the idea of  thinking ‘local’ and the Forest is a great area to both produce and sell locally. The New Forest Marque has given me an incentive to make more of what I do produce and I also know make sure I look for the Marque on any produce I buy.
