We welcome The Textile Alchemist to New Forest Marque Inspired

We are delighted to welcome textile artist Paula – The Textile Alchemist to New Forest Marque Inspired. Paula works with different textiles using a range of skills to create original and bespoke Forest-inspired clothing, jewellery, fairy houses, stationary, homeware and more.

Paula the Textile Alchemist has been sewing and knitting since she was a child. Drawn to new methods and fabrics as well as traditional techniques, Paula likes to mix both in her designs – just as an alchemist would mix chemicals and ingredients.

Inspiration

Paula’s inspiration comes from the natural New Forest landscape and Mother Nature in all her guises, as she journeys through the seasons of the year. Paula explains, ‘the inspiration from the Forest’s flora and fauna are echoed within my creations, following the seasons and the cycles of life there in.’ Care for the environment and passion for recycling fabrics and minimising waste, for Paula the re-working of clothes/alterations and being sustainable are important considerations.
