Having worked as an Operations Manager full-time for over 16 years, in the not-for-profit, charitable and public sector. Lou Judd is an organised, diligent and passionate leader.

In 2019 Lou attended The Cake Makery, Couture Vintage Cupcake course, in Hampshire, with aspirations to make her mum’s 70th Birthday cake later that year.

Her partner Paul bought her the course as a Christmas present, which was the spark that ignited the passion for cake making and creative design. In 2019, Lou went on to make her Mum’s 70th birthday cake, which features in the design of her logo and is her mum’s favourite flower, the Peony.

In 2020 as a result of being redundant, a radical change of heart made Lou decide to switch focus and Peony Cottage Cakes and Bakes was born. Specialising not only in cakes and bakes, but also Peony Cottage Crafts producing edible and non-edible cake toppers, amongst other things.

Since the launch of the business in July 2020, Lou has been commissioned to design and produce many bespoke cakes, through word of mouth, reputation and social media.

Lou lives in the picturesque village of Lyndhurst in the New Forest National Park, with her son Joe and her partner Paul.
